Abstract: An epidemiological survey in the City of Derby from 1976 to 1985 indicated that there was no significant difference in the incidence of Crohn's disease in West Indians (4.5-5.6/10(5)/yr) and the caucasian population (7.0/10(5)/yr). These results indicate that West Indians are not genetically protected against the development of Crohn's disease.
